Team Ruby Update

Well preparations are well under way for the next ride, at the moment all we have is that it looks like Galway to Port Talbot and that the ride will end on Sunday 8th August 2010, at The Quins RFC.
Noahs Ark Appeal
We are hoping to meet up with the CEO of The Noahs Ark Appeal over the next week or two, and hopefully they will endorse our ride, hiring the profile of Team Ruby as a money raising charity.
Wrist Bands
The wrist bands are selling very well, and for those who haven't had one yet their available at the cost of £2.00, photo as above.
Team Ruby Cycle Club
Also looking to get funding from the Community Chest for equipment and cycle repair courses, anyone interested please email me.
To obtain this funding we need to form a Team Ruby cycling club, details to follow.
Cycling insurance is available from Evans Cycles for £2.54 per month or £27 per annum
http://www.evanscyclesinsurance.com/documents/2009/EvansRCPolicySummary.pdf
The policy summary is listed above. This does not however cover anyone outside the UK, so further insurance will be sought before the ride.

Team Ruby 2
Well on the way to organising the Team Ruby 2 charity cycle ride, this year we're going from Galway in Ireland to Port Talbot, a distance of some 370 miles. We propose to stop off at various rugby clubs and camp the nights there in an effort to save money, committees willing. Going to drive out to Ireland in a few weeks, to trace the route and cal in at local rugby clubs to ask their permission.
Last time we rode we rose £40.000 for the Bwwthyn Newydd, Palliative Care Unit at Bridgend Hospital, we're currently in talks with the Noahs Ark Appeal in Cardiff to raise money for them this time around.
